There will be Blue Skies!!!

And blue seas and sunshine and beautiful beaches and lots of fun!! At least for 12 days. Yes, that is right! I am going on vacation! Guess, guess, guess!!
Oh yea.....Greece!!! That is the beauty of being Greek. I get to stay with family and thus be able to afford such trips.
On this particular trip, I'll be spending most of my time with my cousin. She is a year older than me, and as difficult as she normally is with people.....somehow she really likes me. And I really like her too. We usually have a good time, but I think this trip we will have a great time. We are planning a girls' weekend with another friend for the first weekend that I arrive. She has a beach house outside of Athens and I am planning on bringing lots of rum, cause its time that we got drunk and had a good talk....and a good laugh! Seeing as I never used to drink before....my liver is in pristine condition and can handle this weekend! Ahhh the joys of being 50.....its time to let loose!

We then get back to Athens, and may hit a couple of museums, especially the new museum at the Acropolis. Maybe do a little shopping for souvenirs at the flea market . There will be a couple of evenings at the Tavernas ( restaurants) enjoying lots of good Greek food. And with all this eating, I will return having lost weight! How you ask??? Well, with all the swimming and snorkeling and walking to shops and through museums, my metabolism get such a jolt, it burns those pesky calories off in no time. I wish I could be that active at home....but its kind of difficult to window shop when you have to be at your desk working every day!

A couple of days after we return to Athens, my cousin and I will drive to Igios Ioannis, Pelion, which is a cute little coastal village. We have booked a hotel room directly on the beach, and we will be staying for 3 nights. I can't wait. Its been 5 years since my last trip, and its been way too long.

My mom and aunt are in Greece right now and I'll spend an evening meeting up with them and a few other relatives for a family get together to catch up with everyone.

Then before you know it, its time to go home. When I get back, I have to be at work the next day and I'm hoping that I will be able to stay awake, what with the jet lag and all.

Unfortunately, my bf will not be coming with me. This is mostly due to the fact he's a very nervous flier, so much so that he is "working" on getting back on a plane. I am hoping that in a couple of years, we'll be able to go somewhere together. So this trip has its good parts and bad, as I will miss him and I shall miss sharing everything I'll experience on this trip with him. All I can say is thank God for technology. I have a digital camera, and my cousin has a computer and I will try to send pictures and e-mails as much as possible.

I just can't wait and the countdown is on......31 days to go!
